What makes a house feel like home anyhow?

For the past 6 months, my little family has lived in a small cottage in coastal North Carolina. It can’t be more than 800 square feet. And yet, we love it.
My husband and I moved all our possessions from a bigger house in Colorado. We crammed everything in my tiny hatchback — including our cat — and drove to the coast. Then, we bought a compact sailboat to fix up.Â
The plan? To go on a minimalist, global, seafaring adventure.
This small cottage mostly works because it’s serving a greater purpose in our life. It’s near the boat and we’re saving money. And we made it kinda cute.
Life should be much simpler for those who want it.
We’re choosing simplicity at sea.
We’re about to proudly enter our Tiny Home Era and couldn’t be more stoked.
Our tiny sailboat will be awesome
Our 31-foot sailboat is relatively small, considering we’ll live on it full-time and cross oceans. Some people will argue that a 40-footer is more ‘practical’ for circumnavigation life. But some people do it in boats <30 feet, with no engine, and no extra bells and whistles.
